主席来信：商会应邀同商务部部长座谈

AmCham China spoke with Minister Wang Wentao at MOFCOM roundtable 

本周一下午，中国美国商会受邀参加由商务部部长王文涛主持召开的线下座谈会。会上，我们阐述了商会会员企业因近期中国部分省市新冠肺炎疫情蔓延而面临的商业运营挑战。

This Monday afternoon, AmCham China was invited to an in-person roundtable with Minister Wang Wentao of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and his colleagues, where we explained the business challenges our member companies are facing due to recent COVID-19 outbreaks in different parts of China. 

此次座谈会开放且建设性地讨论了外资商界关注的重要议题，包括供应链、跨境人员流动、复工复产时间安排与相关规定、政策展望，以及隔离员工和家属物资供给等。

The open and constructive discussion centered on topics of importance to the business community, including supply chain logistics, cross-border personnel movement, return-to-work timeline and protocols, policy outlook, and supplies for employees and families in lockdowns.

我向王部长介绍了我们与上海美国商会近期共同开展的快速调查结果，并指出会员在调查反馈中的具体诉求。与此同时，商会也表达愿为中国政府在以下方面提供的支持：准确及及时的信息沟通渠道，及时分享在华美资企业的实际状况，支持会员企业物资捐赠，确保基本生活物资供给，外籍人员日常沟通帮助。此外，我们还呼吁政府引进进口疫苗。

I provided an overview of the specific key issues raised by member companies in the recent flash survey conducted by AmCham China and AmCham Shanghai. We then offered support to the government in the following areas: Relay reliable and timely information from the Chinese government to the American business community, provide practical on-the-ground insights to Chinese policymakers, support the donation of relief goods and services from member companies, and explore ways to help to ensure a steady supply of daily necessities to the Chinese and expatriate staff of member companies. We also raised the issue that some apps essential in providing help to those in China either do not function in other languages or do not work with foreign passports, offering to help facilitate communication in that area. Finally, we advocated for access to foreign vaccines.

王部长对于商会分享的信息表示感谢，并强调中国经济运行基础保持总体稳定，扩大开放的决心不会改变。他详细阐释了中国政府继续坚持“动态清零”政策的考量，并承诺会积极将商会的建议转达给相关政府部门。此外，他还表示中国将采取更有力的措施促进供应链稳定及企业运营。

Minister Wang welcomed the information we shared and stressed that China’s economy remained on a solid footing and that China was committed to continued reform and opening. He explained the reasoning behind China’s Dynamic Zero-COVID policy and promised to pass our recommendations to relevant central government ministries and local governments. Furthermore, he said that China will take stronger measures to protect the supply chain and businesses.

我想再度感谢各位会员为商会年度《中国商务环境调查》、《美国企业在中国白皮书》以及快速调查所给予的反馈和支持。这些信息为我们持续为在华美国商界在此类重要会议和平台上发声至关重要。在这个充满挑战的阶段，中国美国商会将一如既往通过政策谏言帮助会员在中国更好的运营及发展。
